Frequently Asked Questions

  • Based on Revere Recruitment's 2025 Salary Guide, Operations Managers in Australian ecommerce typically earn between $100,000 and $135,000 base salary. The range is influenced by the scope of the role (does it include warehouse, logistics, tech, and customer service, or just one function?), team size, and whether there is P&L ownership.

  • An Operations Manager typically owns the execution of operational systems and processes, reporting to the CEO or COO. A COO (or Head of Operations) sits at the executive level, owns the operational strategy, has full P&L responsibility for operations, and is a key member of the leadership team. Revere can help you determine which level you need.

  • Preferred but not always essential — it depends on the role. If the Operations Manager will own fulfilment and last-mile logistics, ecommerce-specific experience is important. If the role is more focused on business process, systems, and vendor management, strong operations experience from adjacent industries (retail, logistics, FMCG) can transfer well.

  • Most Operations Manager roles are filled within 3–6 weeks from briefing to accepted offer. Senior operations candidates typically have 4–8 week notice periods. Planning the search early - particularly if the role is critical to a growth phase or systems implementation - is strongly recommended.
